Signs of The Cross

Thousands of years before Christ, God showed us the cross in the God ordered layout of the Hebrew encampment in the wilderness, and in the Cross nebula in the far reaches of the universe.

Easter/ Resurrection Break

Took a break from blogging during the season of Passover and Resurrection.

Spent my posting time on my Facebook page posting various aspects of the Crucifixion along with my distaste for the bunny..  If you think you might be interested, look me up on Facebook,  Linda Rous.  My page is public.

These particular posts run between April 13 and April 19 of this year (2025) on my Facebook page.

You will find information regarding Jesus in his last hours, The Supper, the crucifixion, the resurrection, bread of life, the sign on the cross, the Centurian, the tomb and more.

I'll be back soon with more from the editing of my book.

Death of The Messiah

"Death of the Messiah"
(Second part of Friday's message)
Roman soldiers divided His clothes among them and cast lots for His under garment. His clothes must have been very nice for the Roman soldiers to want them and argue about His gown that was woven from one thread, Mt. 27:35, Mk. 15:24, Lk. 23:34. My point is, Jesus did not go around in rags or sack cloth as He is often portrayed.
* The time frame is very revealing:

> His trial began early morning, He was nailed to the cross at 9:00 am and died at 3:00 pm. He hung for six hours; the seventh, He entered His rest - just like the seventh day of the week. Six hours of bleeding, sweating and joints being pulled apart.

> From noon to three, there was an eclipse, Mk. 15:25 & 34. Ancient Chinese history recorded this event; it happened just as written. When Jesus was born, the angels turned the night sky to day with their glowing light. When He died, day was turned to night by the hand of God.

> Just after He gave His spirit back to the Father, there came an earth quake, Mt. 27:51. God’s hand tore the temple curtain (a large, tall, heavy drape) from the top to the bottom to open up the one place He occupied once each year so that we might now have direct access to the Father at all times, Mk. 15:38. We no longer need a priest to speak to God for us. We can speak to God directly, anytime, anywhere. Only Jesus can now serve as high priest in the heavenly temple and plead our petitions to the Father; only He has experienced physical life.

> Jesus died at 3:00 pm; the same time that the last sacrifice of the day was made in the temple. It was finished in the temple the moment He said, “It is finished”. The pure human sacrifice had been made. (Blood is created by a fetus, in the womb, from it's bone marrow; it has nothing to do with the babe's mother. Jesus blood was pure - His own divine blood, capable to atone for us.)
> A converted centurion is mentioned, Mt. 27:54, Mk. 15:39. His name was Manlius (Lat: “Morning”; a new beginning.)

> There can be no dispute that Jesus was dead when taken from the cross. It is clear, by medical standards, that the sac of fluid around His heart ruptured, Jn. 19:34. Lambs were sacrificed; Jesus was young when He died so that we could live forever. His body was prepared and laid in the tomb before sunset. The next day was a Sabbath on which no work is done. Within 24 hours (from Last Supper to burial) God’s plan of salvation, devised before time began, was fulfilled and the enemy was thwarted - all according to His will. Every prophesied detail had been done. Magnificent!

> The sign on the cross was in three languages, Aramaic (a slang version of Hebrew), Greek and Latin. In the Aramaic, it read, “Jesus Nazareth King Jews” - four words. (The language had no vowels or used any articles.) If you take the first letter of each word, it would spell “YHWH”. **Reading Aramaic (the top line), right to left, compare to the Hebrew name, in the second image. Any Hebrew who could read, who saw this knew what it said. All the educated priests and Sanhedrin officials knew this name - the name of God in the burning bush, "I Am". They became livid. The sign on the cross, over Jesus read “Yahweh” (I Am, I Was, I Am Coming). This is why they demanded Pilot change the sign. He refused.
It is finished.

Crown of Thorns

Exodus 12 speaks of Passover. Among Jewish peoples Passover is considered the New Year for Kings. This is when kings were crowned.

In 1Kings 6:1 we learn Solomon began to build the Temple in the second month, Ziv, of his reign of four years. We can calculate that Solomon was crowned in the first month of the Hebrew calendar, Nisan.  Nisan is the month of Passover, the month of Redemption, the month of Salvation, the month of the Crucifixion and the month of the crowning of the Kings of Israel.

Jesus came by the words of John the Baptist (the prophesied Ezekiel) who alerted people about the PRESENCE of the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus was not publicly crowned, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is AT HAND!”, Mt. 3:2.
Jesus came to prove His right to His thrown on this earth by sacrificing Himself for His bride, the church (all believing Jews and Gentiles). He will return to claim both, soon.  Coming to prove Himself for His kingdom as the God-man, He would not leave unless crowned as King.  Therefore, He was crowned!

Judges 8:26 tells us that the kings of Midian wore purple robes; a royal color. AND, the color of cloth God instructed to cover the altar in the ‘Holy of Holies’, in the Tent of Meeting was to be purple, Nu. 4:13. The crucifixion was where God received the most important offering ever sacrificed.

The ignorant Roman soldiers did not understand their crowning was a REAL crowning, performed according to the ancient traditions of Israel.  They crowned Jesus on the day of the day of the crowning of Kings of Israel, with crown and purple robe.  God used these ignorant Roman soldiers to crown Jesus, the King Messiah - at the exact time appointed by Him for this purpose.

Note: The curse of the earth, “ cursed is the ground for your sake; . . . Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to you . . ,” Gen. 3:17 & 18.  The thorns in Jesus crown also removed the curse from off the earth.

Never doubt God is in control for the best possible outcome of any situation. Praise God and thank you, Jesus.

I'm Back

Just couldn't stay away.  My husband and I have relocated to another part of the state.  After months of packing, house hunting and moving, we are settling in.  Not "settled" but settling.  I am sure it will take a matter of years to really set up our permanent location the way we want it.

I am very excited to have finished my book.  It only took about 3 years and was a very emotional ride.  If you are a long standing reader, you will remember a few passages that were posted on this blog.  Just contacted my first publisher and waiting to hear back.  If you are up to it, a short prayer on my behalf would be appreciated.

Writing is very enjoyable to me.  We are constantly told to use the gift(s) God has given us to serve His work in this life.  From junior high school, I have always enjoyed writing.  I am getting such a late start because I had a pushy English teacher.  Mother always said, "If you want Linda to do something, tell her not to".  When teacher pushed, I rebelled.  Some of us are so bullheaded that we spend half our lives searching for something that we already posses.

Anyway, I have missed my blog.  Who knew?  The few readers I had were from around the world; few but scattered.  I certainly can't reach such an audience any other way.  Maybe, just maybe, someone can learn something from me or be inspired by one of my many mistakes to forge ahead without the same blunder(s).

In spite of not posting for almost a year, I have managed to continue studying and I am very anxious to share so much.

For my first post, I have a repeat of an earlier post that is updated:

Interesting: The country of China was in existence during the time Jesus walked the earth. In the ancient history of China, there is recorded a world wide eclipse at mid day the day Jesus was crucified.  They also have the earth quake on record.

The sign on the cross over the head of Jesus read "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews" in three languages: Hebrew, Greek and Latin. The common representation of the sign today; the famous "INRI" is an acronym for this title taken from the Latin translation.

In Hebrew, "Bethlehem" translates "House of bread". How interesting that; the "Bread of Life" was born in the "House of Bread".

Interesting: On the night Jesus was born, night was turned to day by the brightness of angels filling the sky with their presence. On the day Jesus died, noon was turned to dark by God.

Day 1 of creation, God called forth the light. Wait a minute, wait a minute! He didn't create the sun until day 4. What light did He call forth? Jesus! the light of the world was called forth on the first day to create everything.

Amen

Jesus Loves YOU

Sometimes we just need to hear it.
We definitely need to know it.

Are you depressed?  Sad?  Confused?  Lost?  Lonely?  Lost control?
Talk to God.
I know, it sounds too simple.  It is a cliche'.  Maybe it's a cliché because it works.  He loves you as an individual.  He knew you in your mother's womb.  He knows every thought you have and loves you anyway.  He cannot not love you.  He is the total capsulation of love.

You don't have to go to a great cathedral and use fancy words.  Talk to Him while you work.  Sit down with a cup of tea and talk to Him.  Worried coworkers will think you crazy?  Just project your thoughts His way.  He can read your mind.  He knows the secrets in your heart and mind that you have buried.  He understands what you feel.  Of course He will hear you.  We so often underestimate Him.

Read His word.  Don't know where to start?  John is a great book.  Try the Palms or Proverbs.  You can find reassurance and answers there.  What day of the month is it?  Pick that number and read that Psalm or that chapter of Proverbs.  He will speak to you.

Think of how much He loves you.  A mighty spiritual being that lives outside of time and space made Himself a minute speck of flesh and blood to become acquainted with what it feels like to be human.  He left His place of serene paradise to come to this earth of pain and suffering to know you; to spend time with people; and, He enjoyed life.

Then, He made the ultimate sacrifice to be tortured beyond recognition and die in agony so we might have a chance to know that serenity in paradise with Him forever.

Think on the calm, quiet, still, order and health He offers you.  Just sit and think about it.

What do you need?  Ask Him for it.  Nothing fancy here, either.  All you need to do is think what you need and direct those thoughts toward Him.  He already knows but just wants enough faith from you for you to ask.  Your Father wants to give you your hearts desires; to see you happy and well.

Then, thank Him.  Thank Him and go on with your day believing that this Man/God loves you so much that your slightest want or need is His absolute joy to give you.
Jesus loves YOU

What a beautiful God we have.
Amen

The Perfect Number

Three, the perfect number.

In Hebrew, the number three is represented by the third letter of that alphabet: gimel, which loosely resembles a backward "L".  This letter is represented by a camel and means to lift up, pride and/or benefit.

There is so much about this number and so many mentions of this number in the Bible that I am going to single out and list, in summary form, just a few:

3 days Moses traveled with the arc of the covenant, Nu 10:33
3 cities of refuge, Nu 35:14
3 days Joshua camped before crossing into Jordan
3 times Samson lied to Delilah, Jgs 16:15
3 times each year Solomon made sacrifice to the Lord at the alter he had built for the lord, I Kings 9:25

David's choice in I Chron 21:12 involves 3 options;
Two riddles are given in Prbs 30:15 and 18, using the number 3
3 times a day Daniel prayed, Dan 6:10
3 days Jesus was missing before being found in the temple
3 is the number of the God Head

There were 3 women at the well
Jesus was 3 days in the grave
After He died, there were 3 hours of darkness
3 women came to the tomb
3 times Peter denied Christ

3 times Jesus told Peter, "Feed/shepherd my lambs/sheep"
There were 3 disciples at the Mt. of Configuration
There were 3 crosses
There were 3 nails used to hang Jesus
At 3 pm each day was the temple sacrifice

At 3 pm Jesus gave up His spirit
3 parts of man: spirit, body and soul
3 parts of the planet: sky, earth and sea
Noah had 3 sons to replenish the earth
3 young men were thrown into the fiery furnace

Jonah was 3 days in the big fish
And there are many, many more uses.  A concordance is an interesting tool for further research.

Themes of the first 3 chapters of Genesis are reflected in the last 3 chapters of Revelation.

The third section of Psalm 119, v.17-24, represents the pride of the writer as he brags of his accomplishments.

The book of Revelation is dominated with the number seven, but you can find several references to thee number 3:
3 woes to Babylon
3 hallelujahs to Babylon's fall
3 angels
3 measures of barley
3 unclean spirits
. . . and more.
Do you see any connection with any of the numbers in situations I have listed?  I won't tell you of any in this posting.

It is a fascinating journey any time you want to study a number in the Bible. God's word, imparted by the Holy Spirit to human hands to write in divine order.

Amen

Notes on The Crucifiction

A very blessed day to you.  Take this day to ask God for a reanointing of your life.

There are so many details in the story of the crucifixion that is recorded in all four gospels.  Rather than trying to cover the entire crucifixion in one blog, let's just explore a few interesting points.

Our Lord Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey that had never been ridden before - a "virgin" donkey. He was laid to rest in a tomb that had never been used - "virgin". (In those days, tombs were purchased for family and/or reused) Also, born of a virgin. Have not found the meaning of this - yet.  Three times "virgin"; three represents the God head trinity.

"Calvary" is a transliteration of the Latin word calvaria. It has the same meaning as the Greek word kranion, namely that of skull, hence our English word "cranium".  Further, this has interest in Gen. 22:2 where we see that God told Abraham to sacrifice  his son, Isaac, in the region of Moriah.  Calvary is the highest point of Moriah.  Hello?  Don't you find this interesting?  The Old Testament gives us a story of the sacrifice of a son in the same place that God's only son would be sacrificed.  This is beautiful!  Godly order in the Bible.  Praise the glory of God!

"Golgatha" is Hebrew and means Place of The Skull.  You will remember that David beheaded Goliath.  In 1Sam 17:51 & 54, we find that David took the head to Jerusalem to bury it.  I think about 18 miles.  Eighteen is the number of bondage (also 6+6+6).  I've read that he buried it just outside to the north of the city.  Now, let's imagine the blood dripping from Jesus feet onto the head of Goliath (the Nephilim giant of the Philistines that God saw as a fallen angel  polluting His creation).  We see parallel of Jesus blood covering (defeating) our giants of today.   The Bible is an amazing puzzle.

Note: There is opinion that Jerusalem was the original site of the Garden of Eden.  This presents an interesting point:  Jesus, the "Second Adam" fulfilled what the First Adam did not and has restored the first Eden that He will claim upon His return.  Yes !

David prophesied Jesus' mocking in Ps 22:12 & 13

He was literally skinned alive so we might be whole and healthy.  1Pet 2:24

He was dead; the sac around His heart was pierced and water ran out.  Jn 19:34  In any medical report, this means you are dead.  When He was laid in the tomb, He was dead.

In Mk 15:37, it states He gave a loud cry.  Those who have studied and understand crucifixion will tell you that this is impossible.  The body is stretched and strained at a point where this cannot be done.  The one thing that all victims of crucifixion have done is reach so hard for that last breath that the break their own necks.  There is no mention or evidence that Christ broke His neck reaching for air.  On the contrary, He hung His head.  This leads me to the next point:

His life was not taken.  He gave it up.  Jn 19:30  Lk 23:46  He also gave Himself to the soldiers that came for Him in the garden of Gethsemane.  He stood up boldly and proclaimed, "I Am"  Ex 3:6

He was the perfect Son of God come to fulfill a destiny and He went to the finish line.  He is our Savior - The Lord Jesus Christ
Amen
